Brent M. Pearce
Brent Pearce obtained his Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University in 2003. While at Osgoode Hall, Mr. Pearce was involved with the school’s legal aid clinic (CLASP), including on the board of directors, providing legal representation and advice to those who could not afford it. During his years of practice Mr. Pearce has continued to do work for the disadvantaged, including by undertaking pro-bono files for individuals faced with legal difficulties who lack the means to defend themselves.
Mr. Pearce was called to the bar in 2004. In his ten years of practice as a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, Mr. Pearce practiced at a small firm with a strong focus on meeting clients’ needs in a service-based atmosphere.
Mr. Pearce has experience in the supreme, superior, provincial, federal, tax, and appellate courts in multiple areas of law including family law, criminal law, construction and property development law, employment law, tax law, and personal injury law. He has also appeared before various tribunals throughout his legal career.
Mr. Pearce is passionately involved with the HeroWork Program Society, a not-for-profit organization that pulls together community and industry resources to assist charities with their infrastructures through radical renovations that would otherwise be impossible for them to obtain. Mr. Pearce sits on the board of directors as vice-chair.
Since returning to Victoria in 2014, Mr. Pearce has practiced exclusively in the area of family law.
